infant program

program & curriculum

We have created a nurturing, safe, clean, and fun environment in which your child can play, grow and learn about the world around them. The infant room is specifically designed for ages 6 weeks to 13-14 months, with:

- Age-appropriate, safe and clean toys
- A separate sleeping area with cribs
- A full kitchen for warming/storing special foods
- An adjacent covered, padded outdoor play area for enjoying outdoor play during the warmer months

Our infant teachers are highly experienced and trained caregivers who have been selected for their nurturing, patient, accommodating and energetic personalities. Their experience far exceeds state minimum requirements for training specific to infants. *Open 8:00 am to 5:30 pm

philosophy

We recognize the importance of each child’s individual needs. We adjust our care to be in line with parent desires and to maintain consistency with how the child is cared for at home.

As each infant enters the school, we form a partnership with you, the parents, to provide your child with the same degree of care and nurturing which you would provide at home.

We strive to meet the child’s and family’s individual and emotional needs in a loving, caring and exceptionally clean environment.

we believe in . . .

  • Open communication with parents for understanding the child, meeting their needs and ensuring smooth transitions.

  • Maintaining a loving and nurturing environment. We strive to meet the emotional needs of each child with one-on-one interaction and care.

  • Social (interaction with other children, feelings of confidence, trust, friendship, humor), physical (developing motor skills/coordination) and cognitive skill development  (development of language, use of senses, cause and effect, etc.).

  • Keeping a clean and safe environment. You will find that our infant room is extremely clean and neat! Since the littlest members of our community spend a lot of time on the carpet playing, crawling and having tummy-time, we encourage those entering the room to remove their shoes.

during the day we . . .

  • Do everything according to your child’s own schedule (naps, meals, snacks, etc.)

  • Lots of tummy time on the carpet and playing with age-appropriate toys

  • Play time in a sun-protected, outside infant play area

  • Reading time

  • Singing songs

  • Doing art
