Kent Grady, Head of School

 

Throughout his over 39-years in education, leadership and administration, Kent’s passion for child development and education has been a constant. Kent began his career teaching kindergarten, high school mathematics (and windsurfing), and enjoyed 10 years as a lecturer for San Francisco State University. For over a decade, he was an Executive Director for an international wilderness education program for teenagers.

 

Having grown up in San Francisco and Marin, Kent and his wife, Tory are Bay Area natives, now living in the small town of Nicasio (just west of Novato). They have two children, both graduates of Miss Sandie's School.

 

Kent received his bachelor’s degree from U.C. Santa Barbara.

Angela Barrientos, School Director

As school Director, Angela brings over 16 years of experience working with preschool age children.

Her knowledge of child development, passion for preschool age children and strong management skills are invaluable to our school community. She began her career in the Monterey Bay area where she worked in a variety of childcare settings before settling down at a preschool. There, she started out as an Assistant Teacher and quickly made her way into a Lead Teacher role. She was then promoted to Assistant Director, and shortly thereafter, promoted to Director. Angela remained the Director for 4 years before moving to the Sonoma County area. Angela has been the Director at Miss Sandie’s School since 2019.

 

Angela received her bachelor’s degree in Child Development in 2012 and Early Childhood Education in 2012.
